چکیده

The mechanical failure of three-dimensional (3D) 4-step braided SiCf/SiC composites, processed by precursor infiltration pyrolysis, has been studied under flexural loading to investigate the condition at failure. investigation integrated advantages continuous data acquisition optical imaging and 3D reconstruction internal structure in X-CT imaging, for situ microstructure-related mechanisms. Optical with digital image correlation acquired surface displacements. X-ray computed tomographs, obtained situ, were analysed volume measure displacement fields. Image subtraction, informed displacements, was used detect visualize crack development. Curvature measurement, via fields, monitored change effective modulus. observed modes included matrix cracking, inter- intra-bundle debonding fibre breakage. Tensile cracks arrested heterogeneous microstructure, ultimate due multiple cracking compression.

the present study aimed to investigate representation of discourse markers and metadiscourse markers in conversations and readings of general elt coursebook series used in the language centers of iran. to this aim, four elt coursebooks popularly taught in language centers of this country were analyzed based on fung and carter’s (2007) framework regarding discourse markers and hyland’s (2005) fr...

Failure Procedure in Adhesive Composite Joints under Different Types of Loading

In this paper, we have used numerical simulation to study failure of adhesive joints in composite plates. To determine the failure load, adhesive joints are subjected to different types of loading and gradual failure of the joint is studied using the finite element method. The composite material failure theory is implemented into the FEM software. Also different geometries for the joint edge ar...

Failure Behavior of Unidirectional Composites under Compression Loading: Effect of Fiber Waviness

The key objective of this work is to highlight the effect of manufacturing-induced fiber waviness defects on the compressive failure of glass fiber-reinforced unidirectional specimens. For this purpose, in-plane, through-thickness waviness defects (with different waviness severities) are induced during the manufacturing of the laminate. Numerical and experimental results show that the compressi...

Statistical Analysis of the Progressive Failure Behavior for Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites under Tensile Loading

An analytical approach with the help of numerical simulations based on the equivalent constraint model (ECM) was proposed to investigate the progressive failure behavior of symmetric fiber-reinforced composite laminates damaged by transverse ply cracking. A fracture criterion was developed to describe the initiation and propagation of the transverse ply cracking. This work was also concerned wi...
